gothiccharmschool:

It will surprise NO ONE that once I learned that F+F would make this with pink stitching and buttons, I purchased it. Perhaps it’s time to dig it out of the jacket armoire and put an outfit together, yes.

Oh mymymymymy…. Even someone who doesn’t often go for the bat motif, like me, can’t help but fall for this jacket.  How lovely

gothtriggers:

Unlike some other animals, playing dead will only make the wild Goth more interested in you.
They are actually reclusive and peaceful creatures, however, when camping always dispose of any unused cloves, vinyls, or poetry, away from your tent in a garbage receptacle or contained fire. It is a dangerous myth that you can simply tie these items up a tree as Goths are highly adept at climbing trees!
Oh, don’t believe me?

Bahahaha!!!  Excellent.

gothconfessions:

Full Confession (Submitted Anonymously) - I absolutely hate the terms “babybat” and “ElderGoth”- Goth is a community where all people are accepted, and we all love the same things, just as much as everyone else in the community. Why should there be “levels” of Goth-iness? What is it that REALLY separates babybats from ElderGoths, other than their age? How do you even know you’re not a “babybat” anymore, and who decides if you are one in the first place? I loathe these two terms.

Wow.  See, I never think of these things in terms of “levels,” like there’s a hierarchy.  I’ve always used it as a way of connoting experience, and experience does NOT connote worthiness.  Both contribute to the community in their own ways.  There’s no shame in that, and I find no shame in differentiating between the qualities each brings.

Full Confession (Submitted Anonymously) - i honestly envy the gothic subculture for all it’s beauty. i really do wish that i could experience the subculture myself, but because i’m 20 i’m afraid that i won’t assimilate easily due to my age

I’m sorry, is this meant to imply they feel too young or too old?  I’m 39 and didn’t start earnestly looking into the subculture until 3 or 4 years ago, only fully delving into it around one year ago.  If you like gothic things, then you like them! If other people like those same things, they’ll relate to you.  What does age have to do with that?

gothconfessions:

Full confession (submitted anonymously): Gothic people aren’t any different than any other member of society. A lot of people seem to think because someone is Gothic, they are automatically open minded, friendly and think outside of the box. This is hardly ever the case. They are especially not open minded for anyone who has many other interests and personality types outside of what is stereotypically “goth”

This is my observation as well.  Although I’d say they are open-minded to unconventional people, there’s close-mindedness against people who are traditional in values and lifestyle.  Since I straddle both worlds, this discrepancy is stark!
